🧴 Description
Molutrex 5% Solution by ACM Laboratoire Dermatologique is a topical treatment used for molluscum contagiosum, a viral skin infection common in children and occasionally in adults. It contains 5% Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), a caustic agent that works by destroying the infected epidermal cells hosting the virus.

Due to its high alkalinity, Molutrex should be applied with extreme care only to the lesion and never to the surrounding healthy skin. Improper use can result in chemical burns or irritation.

⚠️ Important Safety Information

• Apply only to the surface of molluscum lesions

• Avoid contact with surrounding skin, eyes, mucous membranes, and open wounds

• External use only – not for oral or internal use

• Do not use in children under 2 years, immunocompromised patients (e.g. HIV), or on inflamed or eczema-damaged skin

• In case of accidental contact with healthy skin, rinse thoroughly with cold water immediately

• If swallowed, rinse mouth and drink plenty of cold water, then seek medical help

💡 How to Use

1. Apply once daily using the applicator, directly on the molluscum lesion only

2. Allow to dry naturally before dressing or clothing

3. Continue daily applications until the lesion shows signs of inflammation or disappears

4. Treatment duration: usually 5–10 days per lesion

🚫 Contraindications

• Children under 2 years

• Immunocompromised patients

• Application on:

  • Genitals

  • Eyes or eyelids

  • Broken or inflamed skin (e.g., eczema)
