BioNike Proxera Psomed 40 gel with 40% urea

BioNike Proxera Psomed 40 Intensive Exfoliating Gel is a 100 ml topical medical device, CE 0546. It is intended for the treatment and prevention of hyperkeratosis, skin plaques and associated symptoms in people with localised psoriasis affecting the skin and scalp. The manufacturer describes the 40% urea as stabilised and delivered through a carrier system to exfoliate, moisturise and soften the skin.

This intensive exfoliating gel is formulated for hyperkeratotic areas and plaques. Repeated application helps facilitate removal of hyperkeratotic plaques and helps relieve associated itch and inflammation, as described by BioNike. How to use Proxera Psomed 40

Apply BioNike Proxera Psomed 40 to hyperkeratotic areas once or twice daily, or as advised by your doctor. Massage gently until absorbed, and wash hands before and after applying. It may also be used on the scalp without subsequent washing. Do not use for more than 14 consecutive days; discontinue for a few days before resuming. Use within three months after opening. Paediatric use must be prescribed and supervised by a physician.

Size: 100 ml. Device: topical medical device, CE 0546. Composition (not an INCI list): urea 40%, gluconolactone, lactic acid, ceramide, gelling agents, stabilisers and demineralised water q.s. to 100.

Important warnings: For external use only. Do not use on skin lesions of another nature or if you have a known allergy to any component. Avoid using other topical products at the same time unless advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Avoid touching the eyes after application; rinse thoroughly if accidental contact occurs. Keep out of reach of children. Do not expose to sunlight or temperatures above 25°C; if accidentally exposed above 25°C, ammonia may form and the product must not be used. Crystallisation below 10°C may be reversed by returning the product to room temperature. Do not use after expiry or if the tube is damaged. Stop use and consult a doctor if persistent burning, blisters or redness occur.
