Bial Diacol Dextromethorphan Syrup is a 200 ml cough syrup containing dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Product information describes temporary relief of dry, non-productive cough caused by irritation of the upper or lower respiratory tract. It is not intended for productive cough. Each 15 ml contains 27 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide, and a measuring cup is supplied.

Ingredients and precautions

Other listed ingredients include sucrose, anhydrous citric acid, methylparaben, liquid orange flavour, 96% ethanol and purified water. The bottle contains 121.64 g sucrose and 2.75 g ethanol; each 15 ml dose contains about 9.1 g sucrose and 0.20 g ethanol. Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or within 14 days after stopping them. Avoid for productive cough. Ask a healthcare professional if you have sugar intolerance, liver disease, epilepsy, are pregnant, or use medicines that cause drowsiness. Seek medical advice if cough lasts more than a week, returns, or occurs with high fever, rash or severe headache.
