Novartis - Zaditen - 30 Tablets

Zaditen 1 mg tablets contain ketotifen (as ketotifen hydrogen fumarate), an antihistamine used for preventive treatment of bronchial asthma, especially when associated with atopic symptoms, and certain allergic disorders. This pack contains 30 tablets. It is not a rescue medicine for an acute asthma attack and does not replace prescribed asthma treatment.

Use and medical advice

Use only as directed by the leaflet supplied with this pack or by a doctor or pharmacist. Ketotifen is preventive treatment and does not provide relief from an established asthma attack. Do not stop or change any prescribed inhaled or oral corticosteroid or other asthma medicine when starting Zaditen unless the prescriber tells you to. Warnings

Do not use if allergic to ketotifen or an ingredient. Ketotifen is contraindicated for people with epilepsy or a history of seizures. Ask a healthcare professional before use if taking oral diabetes medicines or other medicines that cause drowsiness; ketotifen may increase the effects of alcohol, antihistamines and central-nervous-system depressants. It can cause sedation or drowsiness, especially when treatment begins, so use caution with driving and machinery. The tablets contain lactose. During pregnancy, use only if clearly needed and the benefits outweigh potential risks; do not breastfeed while taking ketotifen. Read the carton leaflet and seek medical advice for questions.
