Brufen 400 mg tablets

Brufen 400 mg contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID). Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg ibuprofen. According to the manufacturer's product information, the 400 mg tablet is intended for adults over 18 years for short-term relief of occasional mild-to-moderate headache, toothache, period pain, muscle pain, back pain and fever. It is not a treatment for chronic arthritis.

How to take Brufen 400 mg tablets

For adults, the manufacturer lists one tablet up to three times a day. Follow the interval stated in your leaflet and do not exceed 1,200 mg ibuprofen (three 400 mg tablets) in any 24 hours. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time. Directions may vary by country, so follow the leaflet supplied with your local pack.

Important safety information

Do not take ibuprofen if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or another NSAID; have or have had a stomach or intestinal ulcer or bleeding; have severe kidney, liver or heart disease, active bleeding or significant dehydration; or are in the last three months of pregnancy. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you take other medicines, have a long-term condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are unsure whether ibuprofen is suitable. Brufen tablets contain lactose. Stop and seek medical advice for an allergic reaction or signs of stomach bleeding. Ask a doctor if fever lasts more than 3 days or pain more than 5 days, or sooner if symptoms worsen.
